Arnaud Quercy

Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

Arnaud Quercy maps a piano étude onto paper in this sixth work from the D minor series. The source material is the D minor triad — notes D0, F3, F4, and A4 — each assigned a color range. The result belongs to the Harmonic Crossing collection, which translates musical structure into visual form.

Dusty mauve and related red-violet tones spread across the largest areas of the composition, with warm reds occupying substantial portions alongside them. Muted yellow and ochre tones fill much of the remaining surface, pulling the palette toward warmth on one side. Orange appears in smaller concentrations, and deep black marks anchor specific zones with hard contrast. The image shows geometric blocks and a partial circle organized vertically, with thick black outlines separating each color field. The paper texture remains visible throughout, giving the watercolor washes a dry, granular quality rather than a fluid one.

The work measures 18 × 13 cm on paper and weighs 0.1 kg. It is the sixth piece in the D minor series within the Harmonic Crossing collection. Quercy created it on 2 October 2026 at his Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first shown publicly at Les Portes du Dragon, the open studio event at Art Quam Anima, Paris, from 2 to 4 October 2026. The certificate number is 20261002-0154. The work is currently available.
