Arnaud Quercy

Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of D minor harmony through chromesthetic mapping, where musical tones become color relationships. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms the D minor triad into a compact color study that makes harmonic relationships visible.

Very dark purple dominates the left portion, representing the low register foundation notes. Orange and yellow-orange tones fill the central and right areas, creating the harmonic structure through warm color families. Thin black lines connect small geometric shapes, mapping the spatial relationships between chord tones across different octaves.

The piece measures 10 × 15 cm and weighs minimal on paper support, created with acrylic technique in 2024. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0122 accompanies the work, with the artist's signature located bottom right. The compact format concentrates the D minor chord mapping into an intimate study of color-sound correspondence.
