Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into color. The D7 dominant seventh chord — built from D2, D3, D4, and A5 — provides the structural logic. Each note maps to a color: orange, black, green, yellow-orange, and red. The work belongs to the D7 series within the Harmonic Crossing collection, which uses cycle of fifth mapping as its organizing principle.
Rectangular color blocks fill a vertical composition on paper. Warm orange occupies a large area at upper left, flanked by deep olive green and a near-black zone at lower left. A soft peach block sits at center, with a broader sage green rectangle to its right. The lower section opens into lighter warm tones, with a teal strip at the right edge and a deep russet vertical band running the full height on the far right. The palette moves from orange through yellow-orange tones, with green and dark accents providing contrast. Outlines in near-black define each block clearly. Acrylic on paper gives the surface a matte, slightly textured quality.
The work measures 18 × 13 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It carries certificate number 20261002-0155. Created on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris, it was first shown at Les Portes du Dragon — the open studio event at Art Quam Anima, Paris — from 2 to 4 October 2026. The work is currently available.
