Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into color. Arnaud Quercy maps the Bb Major triad — Bb1, D3, D4, D5 — onto the canvas as a chromatic equivalent of harmonic structure. The work draws on piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping as its core inspiration. It belongs to the Harmonic Crossing collection and the Bb Major series.
Warm tones fill most of the surface. Yellow-orange and tan shades spread across large flat areas, with orange tones adding substantial presence throughout. The composition uses hard-edged geometric blocks — rectangles and a curved form in the lower section — arranged vertically on a white paper ground. Violet moves toward black in one zone; orange shifts toward yellow-orange and red-violet in another. A near-black area anchors the lower left. Red and very dark red tones appear in smaller areas, providing contrast. A pale warm-white accent sits near the center edge. The acrylic paint is applied in flat, opaque layers with visible outlines separating each color field.
The work measures 21 × 15 cm on paper and weighs 0.1 kg. It is the eighteenth variation in the Bb Major series within the Harmonic Crossing collection. The certificate number is 20261002-0179. Quercy created the work on October 2, 2026, at his Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first shown publicly at Les Portes du Dragon, the open studio exhibition at Art Quam Anima in Paris, from October 2 to 4, 2026. The work is currently available.
