Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of the C minor triad through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The piece transforms the fundamental chord C, Eb, G into its corresponding color equivalents, creating a direct bridge between musical harmony and visual perception. The composition presents these harmonic relationships through geometric forms that echo the spatial arrangements of musical voicing.

Red-violet tones dominate the composition, occupying the largest areas and establishing the primary visual foundation. Crimson and red sections create substantial presence throughout the surface, while violet areas provide harmonic support. The geometric forms include curved and angular elements that intersect and layer, creating depth through overlapping planes. A small circular element and linear divisions organize the color relationships into distinct zones while maintaining visual unity.

The work measures 30 × 42 cm on wood panel, executed in acrylic. This piece represents Variation 6 within the Research on Harmony series, continuing the artist's investigation into sound-color correspondence. The painting bears certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0217 and carries the artist's signature on the reverse. Created in France in 2024, the work demonstrates the systematic approach to translating specific musical structures into visual form.
