Arnaud Quercy

Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

F Octaves - Reflexions 27 explores the visual translation of musical intervals through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, this work transforms the F octave chord into a geometric composition where sound becomes visible through color relationships and spatial organization.

Red tones dominate the composition, with indianred and brown anchoring the lower register while palevioletred ascends toward the upper frequencies. The geometric forms create distinct zones of color interaction, with curved and angular elements establishing visual rhythm. A small black circle provides a focal point within the pink-red field, while neutral tones in the lower portion ground the composition. The acrylic medium on wood panel allows for clean color boundaries and precise geometric definition.

The work measures 42.0 × 30.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal due to its compact format on wood panel support. Certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0290 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature positioned according to standard documentation practices. The vertical orientation emphasizes the ascending tonal relationships inherent in the octave structure.
