Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

G Major

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of G Major harmony through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece converts musical intervals into color relationships, creating a direct correspondence between harmonic structure and visual form. The composition investigates how chord voicings can be expressed through spatial color arrangements.

Orange tones dominate the surface, with warm sandy browns and rich amber hues filling most areas. Yellow-orange accents appear in darker regions, creating depth through tonal contrast. A small red-orange element provides a focal point, while pale cream areas offer visual breathing space. The geometric forms organize these colors into clear structural relationships that mirror musical intervals.

The work measures 21 × 21 cm and weighs 0.1 kg, executed in acrylic on paper. Certificate of authenticity number 20251123-0120 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The compact square format concentrates the harmonic relationships within an intimate viewing space, allowing the color correspondences to read clearly at close range.
