G Major

About This Artwork

This watercolor explores how G Major harmony translates through chromesthetic color mapping, where musical notes become visible as specific colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, this fourth variation continues investigating the relationship between sound and color perception through systematic visual translation.

Yellow-green tones dominate the composition, appearing throughout the surface in varying intensities from light silver to deeper gray values. These colors represent the B notes that form the chord's foundation across multiple octaves. Orange and red-orange accents provide sharp contrast, marking the D and G notes that complete the harmonic structure. The composition organizes these colors through geometric forms - two circular shapes positioned against linear elements that divide the picture plane.

The work measures 14.8 × 21.0 cm and uses watercolor on paper, allowing transparent layers to create the subtle color variations visible throughout the yellow-green areas. This is variation 4 within the broader research series examining G Major harmony. The piece includes certificate of authenticity number 20250125-0033, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The specific voicing translates as D3, B4, G5, B5, B6, creating a spread chord structure that spans multiple octaves.
