French artist exploring the intersection of music, color perception, and systematic visual translation.

About This Artwork

This acrylic painting translates the G minor chord into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, converting its three component notes into specific colors based on the circle of fifths. Created from simple piano etudes using spread voicings, the work captures the harmonic character of G minor as a composition of geometric shapes and layered color. As Variation 12 in the Research on Harmony series within the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it continues a practice of bridging sound and sight through systematic color-to-note correspondence.

Orange tones fill the majority of the square surface, representing the notes G and D through warm hues ranging from deep burnt orange to soft sandy tones. A large circular form occupies the lower center of the composition, divided between deep purple and lighter lavender. These purple tones correspond to the B-flat in the chord. A dark rectangular shape anchors the upper portion, connected to the circle by a pale vertical strip. The geometric arrangement organizes three distinct color zones into a balanced structure where warm and cool tones coexist within clean outlines.

The twenty-one by twenty-one centimeter format on paper creates an intimate scale suited to close viewing. Acrylic on this support produces flat, opaque color fields with defined edges between shapes. The compact square format concentrates the chord's three-note structure into a tight visual space where each color area reads clearly against its neighbors. The warm temperature of the overall palette reflects the tonal character of G minor as interpreted through the chromesthetic system.

The work bears the artist's signature at the lower right and includes certificate of authenticity number 20251123-0122. Archival mat and frame options are available for presentation.
