Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates a piano étude into visual form through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it converts the G Major triad—G, B, D—into its color equivalents of red-orange, yellow-green, and orange. The spread voicing technique opens across the paper surface, creating harmonic relationships through paint rather than sound.

Orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in chocolate and peru variations that fill nearly half the surface. Yellow-green areas provide substantial counterpoint through darkseagreen and yellowgreen passages. Black accents punctuate the harmonic structure, while coral orange creates transitional passages between the primary color voices. Russet and burnt sienna appear as brief accent notes, adding chromatic complexity to the overall chord progression.

The acrylic medium on paper measures ten by fifteen centimeters, executed with the artist's signature placed bottom right. Created in France during 2024, this compact study bears certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0135. The work was acquired by a collector in Greece, completing its journey from musical concept to visual reality.
