Eb minor

About This Artwork

This work explores the chromesthetic translation of an Eb minor chord through color mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it converts musical harmony into visual form by translating each note of the chord into its corresponding color family. The piece investigates how harmonic relationships in music can be expressed through spatial color arrangements.

Violet tones dominate the composition, appearing across multiple octaves as dusty mauve and slateblue forms that occupy the central areas. Yellow-green appears throughout as mediumseagreen and seagreen, creating substantial presence in geometric shapes. Black anchors the lower register while white accents provide bright contrast points. The colors organize into distinct geometric sections with clear boundaries between tonal areas.

The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm and weighs minimal as acrylic on paper. Created in 2024, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0127 with signature located bottom right. The piece translates the Eb minor triad across multiple octaves, with each note assigned its chromesthetic color equivalent. This compact format allows the harmonic structure to read clearly within the confined space.
