Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates a G major triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece demonstrates how harmonic relationships can become color relationships, converting musical intervals into spatial arrangements of hue and tone.

Orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in multiple variations from russet to burnt sienna, representing the D notes across different octaves. Yellow-orange areas occupy substantial portions of the surface, while very dark gray provides the foundational bass register. Two accent colors punctuate the arrangement: a deep red-orange and a bright yellow-green khaki, corresponding to the root and third of the triad.

The work measures 15.0 × 21.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal on wood panel support, executed in acrylic. Certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0285 accompanies the piece. The composition organizes six distinct pitches (G1, G2, D3, D4, D5, B5) into a spread voicing that opens across the vertical format, creating harmonic intervals through color relationships rather than temporal progression.
