F minor

About This Artwork

This watercolor explores the visual translation of F minor harmony through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the work converts musical intervals into color relationships, making audible harmonies visible on paper. The piece investigates how chord tones can occupy space through pigment rather than sound.

Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in warm tan and steel gray areas that fill nearly half the surface. A red-orange accent provides contrast in the upper portion, while blue-violet notes appear in lighter gray sections. White and pale yellow areas create breathing space between the more saturated color zones. The geometric forms organize these harmonic colors into distinct regions, with black linear elements defining boundaries and creating structural divisions.

The watercolor measures 14.8 × 21.0 cm on paper, signed bottom right. Certificate of authenticity number 20250125-0027 accompanies the work. This variation forms part of the artist's ongoing research into translating musical structures into visual form, where each chord tone finds its corresponding color through systematic chromesthetic principles.
