Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates F minor into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, where musical tones correspond to specific colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it explores how harmonic relationships in music can create spatial relationships in paint. The F minor triad appears as red-violet, blue-violet, and white tones, with the chord's emotional character expressed through color interaction.

Warm yellow-orange tones fill most of the composition, creating a foundation that contrasts with cooler violet and blue-violet areas. Red-violet forms appear in substantial sections, while bright blue accents punctuate the surface. The geometric shapes overlap and intersect, creating depth through layered transparency. Orange and brown elements provide additional warmth, while black accents define edges and transitions between color areas.

The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and uses acrylic on paper, a compact format that concentrates the harmonic relationships into an intimate scale. Certificate of authenticity number 20240602-0093 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located on the front right. The painting sold in January 2025 to a collector in Paris, France.
