Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates the F minor triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The fundamental chord structure — F, Ab, C — appears as a spread voicing across six octaves, each note rendered in its corresponding color family. The composition demonstrates how harmonic relationships can be made visible through systematic color translation.

Red-orange tones dominate the composition, occupying nearly half the surface through vibrant orangered and darker brown areas. Blue-violet regions provide substantial presence in the middle register, appearing as grayish purple forms that balance the warm dominance. Orange and blue families create additional harmonic layers, while yellow and blue-green accents appear as precise color notes that complete the chromesthetic voicing.

The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm on paper, executed in acrylic with certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0132. The artist's signature appears at bottom right. This variation represents the seventh exploration in the Research on Harmony series, where each work examines a different chord structure through the same chromesthetic translation system.
