Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of an F minor chord through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The piece transforms a piano étude into color relationships, where each note of the F minor triad finds its corresponding visual equivalent. The composition investigates how harmonic structures can become spatial arrangements of color and form.

Dark red tones dominate the composition, occupying substantial areas alongside bright blue sections that create dynamic contrast. Purple and violet forms appear throughout the surface, connecting the primary color areas through curved and geometric shapes. A small orange accent and pale blue highlight provide focal points within the larger color structure. The acrylic medium on wood panel creates clean edges and saturated color areas that emphasize the geometric organization.

The work measures 21 × 30 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal due to its compact format on wood panel support. This piece represents Variation 13 within the Research on Harmony series, continuing the artist's investigation of musical-visual correspondences. The work bears certificate number 20241201-0257 and includes the artist's signature on the reverse. Created in France in 2024, the painting demonstrates the systematic approach to translating specific musical intervals into visual compositions.
