Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of F minor harmony through chromesthetic mapping, where musical tones correspond to specific colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece transforms a piano étude into a geometric composition that makes harmonic relationships visible through color interaction.

Pale violet-red tones dominate the composition, representing the C5 note that anchors this harmonic structure. Very dark gray areas create substantial presence in the lower register, corresponding to the F2 root tone. Dusty mauve appears in multiple registers, translating the F3 and Bb3 voices, while cornflower blue and dodger blue provide contrasting elements. The geometric forms organize these chromesthetic translations into overlapping circles and angular segments, with accent colors of light blue, light pink, and gray providing subtle harmonic extensions.

The acrylic on wood panel measures 21.0 × 30.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal amounts suitable for wall mounting. Created in 2024 as part of the Synesthetic Explorations series, the work carries certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0258. The compact format allows the harmonic relationships to read clearly at close viewing distances, with the wood panel support providing a stable foundation for the precise geometric divisions.
