Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

F Major

About This Artwork

This work explores how musical harmony translates into visual color relationships through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms the F Major triad into a geometric composition where each chord tone finds its corresponding color family. The piece investigates the visual equivalent of spread voicing, where musical intervals become spatial relationships between color fields.

Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing as wheat and steel gray across the upper portions. A deep red-violet black anchors the lower left, while red and orange elements create substantial presence through brown and steel gray forms. The geometric shapes interlock and overlap, with sharp edges defining clear boundaries between color areas. Pink and red accents provide additional harmonic color, distributed throughout the composition in smaller geometric forms.

The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal as an acrylic painting on wood panel. Created in 2024, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0254 with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The compact format concentrates the harmonic relationships into a focused study, where the F Major chord structure of F, A, and C becomes visible through the chromesthetic translation system that assigns specific color families to musical pitches.
