Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of piano harmony through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece converts the F Major triad notes F, A, and C into their corresponding color equivalents of magenta, yellow-orange, and red. The research examines how musical intervals can be systematically rendered as visual relationships through established color-sound correspondences.
Dark brown tones dominate the composition, with bright orange and yellow-orange areas creating substantial visual presence throughout the surface. Red elements appear in multiple forms, from deep firebrick accents to soft pink highlights. Black sections provide structural definition, while small white areas offer contrast points. The acrylic medium on paper allows for clean color separation and precise geometric boundaries between the different harmonic zones.
The painting measures twelve by eighteen centimeters and weighs approximately one hundred grams. This is the twelfth variation in the Research on Harmony series, drawing inspiration from piano studies and cycle of fifths mapping. The work carries certificate of authenticity number 20251231-0142 and features the artist's signature in the bottom right corner. Created in France during 2025, the piece represents contemporary approaches to synesthetic art practice.
