Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of a C Major triad through chromesthetic mapping, where musical intervals become color relationships. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece transforms the fundamental chord C-E-G into its corresponding visual harmonies, creating a direct bridge between auditory and visual perception.
Orange tones dominate the composition, occupying substantial areas through tan and steel gray passages that flow across the wooden surface. Red-orange forms create strong presence through brown and burnt sienna sections, while yellow-orange areas provide transitional zones. Dark gray anchors the lower register, with yellow and red-violet accents appearing as precise color notes that complete the chromesthetic translation.
The acrylic painting measures 15.0 × 21.0 × 0.3 cm on wood panel, weighing minimal for easy handling. Certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0272 accompanies the work, with the artist's signature integrated into the composition. This variation represents the eighth exploration in the harmonic research series, demonstrating how fundamental musical structures can achieve visual form through systematic color mapping.
