Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates the C Major triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, where musical pitches become specific colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece explores how harmonic relationships in music can be expressed through color relationships on paper.

Orange tones dominate the composition, with red-orange and yellow-orange creating substantial areas across the surface. A bright yellow accent appears as a small highlight, providing contrast against the warm palette. The colors organize into geometric forms and rectangular sections, with clear boundaries between different tonal areas and subtle gradations within each color field.

The work measures 21 × 21 cm and weighs 0.1 kg, created with acrylic on paper. Certificate of authenticity number 20251123-0086 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The compact square format contains the harmonic translation of G4, E6, and E7 notes, representing the resolved voicing of the C Major chord through the artist's personal color-sound correspondence system.
