Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work translates a small piano étude into chromesthetic color, exploring how the F Major triad manifests through synesthetic perception. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece investigates the relationship between musical harmony and visual form through direct color translation of chord structures.
The composition centers on warm earth tones that correspond to the resolved F Major chord tones. Red-orange areas dominate the upper portion, representing the root note C in its lower octave. Orange and yellow-orange forms create substantial presence throughout the middle register, translating the third and fifth of the triad. Deep red accents appear in concentrated areas, reinforcing the harmonic foundation. Black and violet elements provide structural contrast against the predominantly warm palette.
The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 × 0.3 cm and uses acrylic on wood panel. This piece represents one exploration within the broader Synesthetic Explorations series, where each work examines different aspects of sound-to-color translation. The artist's signature appears bottom right, and the work carries certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0255.
