Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of musical harmony through chromesthetic mapping, transforming the D Major triad into a geometric color composition. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it investigates how specific musical intervals can generate corresponding visual relationships through systematic color translation.

Yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in warm silver and sandybrown areas that occupy substantial portions of the surface. Black anchors the left side with strong vertical presence, while yellow-green areas provide structural balance through geometric forms. Dark violet appears in angular shapes, creating tonal depth against the warmer palette. A small accent of dark brown adds harmonic complexity to the overall arrangement.

The acrylic painting measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm on paper, creating an intimate format for detailed color study. The work translates the D Major chord through chromesthetic correspondence, where the root D, third F#, and fifth A appear as specific color relationships across the geometric composition. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0150 documents the work, with the artist's signature located at bottom right.
