Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work translates a piano étude in Ab minor into visual form through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it explores how musical harmony can be experienced through color relationships. The Ab minor triad becomes a study in tonal balance between warm and cool color families.
Gray tones dominate the composition, creating a neutral foundation that occupies more than half the visual space. Yellow-orange areas provide substantial presence through dark brown and very dark gray regions, while bright yellow forms appear as ochre, silver, and wheat tones. Small red-orange and red accents punctuate the arrangement, adding chromatic tension to the predominantly muted palette.
The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and uses acrylic on paper. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0152 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. This compact format allows the color relationships to read clearly while maintaining the intimate scale appropriate for a piano étude study.
