Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into color. Arnaud Quercy maps the C Major triad — C0, C2, Eb3, G3, G4, E5, E6 — onto a visual field, converting harmonic relationships into chromatic ones. The work belongs to the C Major series within the Harmonic Crossing collection, which explores how musical structure can be expressed through color and form. The inspiration draws from piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping.
Warm tones fill most of the surface. Yellow-orange and muted golden hues occupy the largest areas, spreading across the central and lower portions of the composition. Red-orange tones — russet, burnt sienna, and firebrick — appear throughout in substantial blocks, anchoring the mid and upper zones. Deep red and near-black areas hold the left edge and lower corners, pulling the palette toward its darkest register. Pale yellow and warm off-white tones provide contrast in smaller passages near the center. A single accent of grayish blue-violet appears at the far edge, isolated against the warmer field. The forms are geometric — flat rectangular and arched shapes with clean outlines, organized in a grid-like arrangement that reads as both structured and compressed. Acrylic on paper gives the surface a matte, slightly textured quality with visible brushwork in places.
The work measures 21 × 21 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It was created on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris and first exhibited at Les Portes du Dragon — Portes ouvertes de la galerie-atelier Art Quam Anima, held at Art Quam Anima, Paris, from 2 to 4 October 2026. It carries certificate number 20261002-0184. The work is currently available. It is the twenty-second variation in the C Major series, part of the Harmonic Crossing collection.
