About This Artwork

This work explores the isolation of modern digital existence through contemporary cubist interpretation. Part of the Mediterranean Echoes collection, it examines how technology shapes human solitude and introspection in everyday life.

The composition uses geometric fragmentation to deconstruct the female figure and her device. Gray tones dominate the surface, with darker charcoal areas creating structural definition around the eyes and facial features. The cubist approach breaks the subject into angular planes and overlapping forms, while circular elements suggest the phone's presence. The charcoal medium allows for varied tonal depth, from light sketched lines to dense black accents that anchor the geometric construction.

The drawing measures 21.0 × 29.5 cm on paper support, creating an intimate scale that draws focus to the fragmented portrait. The work carries certificate of authenticity number 20221231-0062 and bears the artist's signature on the front. Created in France in 2022, it demonstrates Quercy's approach to translating contemporary themes through modernist visual language.
