Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

Tritone (C, F#) - Reflexions 7 explores the visual translation of musical intervals through chromesthetic perception, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The work transforms the distinctive tension of the C-F# tritone into color relationships, examining how harmonic dissonance appears when rendered as visual form.

The composition centers on a dark charcoal background that dominates the surface, with sea green tones occupying substantial areas of the upper section. Deep maroon fills the lower portion, while medium sea green provides accent notes throughout. Bright turquoise creates sharp contrast in a vertical strip, punctuated by small areas of firebrick red. The acrylic medium allows colors to layer and interact, creating subtle variations within each major color zone.

The work measures 21.0 × 29.5 cm on paper, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection created in 2023. Certificate of authenticity number 20231231-0042 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature appearing on the back. The compact format concentrates the tritone's harmonic tension into an intimate viewing experience, translating the interval's characteristic instability into visual terms through contrasting color temperatures and geometric divisions.
