Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of a specific musical interval through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms a piano étude into color relationships. The tritone interval between Eb and A creates tension that resolves through the interplay of blue-violet and yellow-orange tones.

Silver tones dominate the composition, establishing the primary visual foundation. Blue-violet areas appear throughout in varying intensities, from grayish purple to steelblue, creating substantial presence across the surface. Gray tones fill significant portions, ranging from dusty mauve to very dark areas that provide depth. White accents emerge in the upper register, completing the chromesthetic translation of the five-note voicing.

The acrylic painting measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and weighs 0.1 kg on paper support. Created in France on March 5, 2026, it bears certificate of authenticity number 20260305-0016 and includes the artist's signature. The work draws inspiration from piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping, translating the specific pitches Eb2, Eb3, Eb4, A6, and A7 into their corresponding color families through synesthetic perception.
