Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work translates a G minor 7 chord into visual form through harmonic-chromatic mapping. Part of the Harmonic Crossing collection, it converts piano studies into color relationships using the cycle of fifths as a structural framework. The piece maps the six-note voicing G2, F3, Bb3, D5, Bb6, Bb7 into corresponding color families across the composition.
Orange tones dominate the surface, ranging from warm salmon to deeper rust colors. Dark red-violet areas create substantial presence in the middle register, while violet tones provide harmonic contrast. Silver and white regions appear in the upper areas, corresponding to the higher octave notes. Deep gray anchors the lower register, establishing the root foundation of the chord structure.
The acrylic painting measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm on paper, weighing 0.1 kg in a vertical format. Created in France on March 5, 2026, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20260305-0023. The artist's signature appears at bottom right. This represents Variation 2 within the Research on Harmony series, catalogued as AQC0971 in the Arnaud Quercy Creations collection.
