Arnaud Quercy

Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores how musical harmony becomes visible through chromesthetic translation. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it converts the G minor triad into its corresponding color relationships. The piece opens the G minor series at its darkest, with six tones spanning a single chord from G1 to G4.

Red-orange firebrick dominates the composition, with substantial orange chocolate tones creating warmth throughout the surface. Brown red-orange areas provide structural weight, while burnt sienna and tomato tones add depth and variation. Very dark purple appears in smaller areas, with dusty mauve violet providing precise accent notes. The colors cluster in analogous relationships, creating visual harmony that mirrors the musical chord structure.

The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm on paper using acrylic technique. Created in 2024 at Studio, 17 avenue d'Italie, Paris, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20240602-0101. The artist's signature appears on the front right. The piece translates the G minor triad through six specific pitches - G1, G2, G3, Bb3, D4, and G4 - each assigned its chromesthetic color equivalent.
