Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates the C Major triad into visual form through harmonic-chromatic mapping, where musical notes correspond to specific colors. Part of the Harmonic Crossing collection, the piece explores how fundamental harmonic relationships can be expressed through color rather than sound.

The composition organizes warm tones across geometric forms that echo musical structure. Red-orange areas dominate the surface, appearing in rich brown and burnt sienna tones that occupy substantial portions of the work. Orange hues in chocolate and silver tones create bright accents, while yellow-orange steel gray provides contrasting areas. A deep gray anchors the composition, with small touches of dusty mauve and white serving as precise accent points.

The work measures 21.0 × 30.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal amounts on wood panel support. Created in 2024, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0245. The piece represents the artist's systematic approach to translating C Major chord tones — C, E, and G — into their corresponding harmonic-chromatic colors through acrylic technique.
