Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work translates a G minor piano étude into visual form through chromesthetic mapping, where the G minor triad — G, Bb, D — appears as red-orange, violet, and orange colors. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece explores how musical harmony can be made visible through systematic color relationships.

Orange tones dominate the composition, with goldenrod and burlywood creating substantial presence across the surface. Violet areas provide counterpoint through dusty mauve and lightsteelblue sections, while very dark gray anchors the lower register. The spread voicing opens across multiple octaves, with accent colors of very dark red, ochre, and dimgray marking specific harmonic points. The geometric forms overlap and intersect, creating visual rhythm that mirrors the musical structure.

The acrylic on wood panel measures 30.0 × 42.0 × 0.3 cm and weighs minimal for easy handling. Certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0237 accompanies the work. The piece demonstrates how chromesthetic perception can transform abstract musical concepts into tangible visual experience, making harmonic relationships accessible through color and form.
