Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work translates the F# minor triad into visual form through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the painting converts musical harmony into color relationships, where F#, A, and C# appear as green, yellow-orange, and blue-green tones respectively.
Dark yellow-green areas dominate the composition, flowing through geometric forms that fragment and overlap across the surface. Yellow tones occupy substantial regions, while blue-green accents provide harmonic contrast in smaller passages. The acrylic medium allows precise color boundaries while maintaining fluid transitions between adjacent areas, creating spatial depth through overlapping translucent passages.
The work measures 50 × 70 cm on linen canvas, signed bottom left with certificate of authenticity 20240718-0202. Created in France in 2024, this piece demonstrates Quercy's systematic approach to musical visualization, where each color corresponds to specific pitches in the F# minor chord structure.
