Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of musical harmony through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The F# minor triad becomes a study in color relationships, where the chord's fundamental structure appears as a spread voicing across five octaves. The piece investigates how harmonic intervals translate into spatial color arrangements.

Orange tones dominate the composition, appearing in nearly half the surface area through warm goldenrod and darker burnt orange sections. Green areas create substantial presence through dark slate gray and dim gray regions, while yellow-orange provides connecting passages between the primary color zones. A yellow accent note appears as darkgoldenrod, creating harmonic tension against the dominant orange-green relationship.

The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm and weighs minimal amounts on paper support, executed in acrylic. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0134 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located bottom right. The compact format allows the chromesthetic translation to function as both visual study and harmonic reference, with each color zone corresponding to specific pitches in the F# minor chord structure.
