Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This watercolor explores the chromesthetic translation of a C# minor chord through direct color mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the work converts musical harmony into visual form using the artist's personal sound-to-color associations. The piece investigates how chord structures can exist as spatial relationships between colors.

Light silvery tones dominate the upper portion of the composition, with blue-green areas creating substantial presence throughout the middle ground. Green tones appear in the lower sections, while small yellow-orange and violet accents provide harmonic contrast. The watercolor technique allows colors to blend and layer naturally, creating soft transitions between the mapped tones. Black ink lines define geometric shapes that organize the color areas into distinct zones.

The work measures 12 × 16 cm on paper and weighs minimal for easy handling. Created in France during 2024, it carries certificate of authenticity number 20240718-0162 with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The piece represents the C# minor triad through specific color assignments where C# appears as blue-green, E as white, and G# as blue-violet, following the artist's chromesthetic system.
