Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into visual form. Arnaud Quercy maps the D Minor 7 chord — built from the notes D0, D2, D4, A4, and A5 — onto a color field, converting harmonic relationships into geometric color zones. The work belongs to the D minor 7 series within the Harmonic Crossing collection, which draws on piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping as its structural foundation.
Warm yellow-orange tones fill the largest areas of the composition, spreading across the background and several interior zones. A vivid pure orange runs vertically along the left side, forming a strong curved band that anchors the left edge. Burnt sienna occupies a substantial rectangular area on the right, while a deep red-orange block appears in the lower center, providing strong contrast against the surrounding warmth. A cool lavender-grey shape cuts diagonally across the middle of the composition, creating a clear break in the warm field. A dark charcoal-brown vertical strip runs near the center top, and near-black accents mark the left lower section and the drawn contour lines that define each zone. The right edge carries a pale warm grey strip that separates the main composition from the canvas border. The paint is applied in flat, opaque acrylic layers on paper, with visible texture at color edges where one zone meets the next.
The work measures 21 × 30 cm on paper and weighs 0.1 kg. It is the ninth variation in the D minor 7 series, part of the Harmonic Crossing collection. The certificate number is 20261002-0190. The painting was created on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first exhibited at Les Portes du Dragon — Portes ouvertes de la galerie-atelier Art Quam Anima, held at Art Quam Anima, Paris, from 2 to 4 October 2026. The work is currently available.
