Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into color. Arnaud Quercy maps the D Minor 7 chord — spanning five notes across the keyboard, from D2 through C3, D4, A4, and A5 — onto a visual field of geometric forms and acrylic color. The work belongs to the D minor 7 series within the Harmonic Crossing collection, which draws on piano studies and cycle of fifths mapping as its structural foundation.
Warm tones in the yellow-orange range fill most of the composition, building through soft sandy and rosy beige areas that occupy the large circular and rectangular forms at the center. Deep russet red appears in substantial areas, anchoring the lower left and background zones with intensity. Orange tones in their middle range — from burnt sienna through deeper russet — run through the vertical bands and overlapping planes on the right side of the canvas. Near-black marks and a small dark rectangle appear at the lower center, providing the sharpest contrast in the work. The composition organizes these colors into interlocking curved and rectilinear shapes, outlined in dark lines that define each zone clearly. The overall structure reads as a vertical arrangement of overlapping planes, with a large circle on the left and stacked rectangles on the right. Acrylic paint on paper gives the surface a slightly textured, matte quality throughout.
The work measures 21 × 30 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It was created on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris and first shown at Les Portes du Dragon, the open studio exhibition at Art Quam Anima, Paris, from 2 to 4 October 2026. The certificate number is 20261002-0191. The work is currently available.
