Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting maps the D Minor 7 chord onto color. Each note in the chord — D1, C3, A4, A5 — corresponds to a distinct color range: orange toward black, red-violet, yellow-orange, and red toward red-orange. The work belongs to the D minor 7 series within the Harmonic Crossing collection, which draws on piano studies and cycle of fifths mapping as its structural foundation.
Warm tones fill the surface across a grid of flat rectangular fields divided by black lines. Orange and yellow-orange areas take up most of the composition, with a cooler salmon-pink zone occupying the upper left and a deeper red-orange field anchoring the lower right. A muted gray-violet form — reading as a bottle or vessel — rises through the center, crossing both horizontal registers. To its right, a single thin black line extends vertically, ending in a small dark mark at the top. Deep black appears at the edges of forms and along dividing lines, providing structural contrast. The palette moves from warm neutral tones through burnt sienna and russet into near-black at the periphery. Acrylic paint on paper keeps the surface flat and matte.
The work measures 18 × 13 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It is part of the D minor 7 series within the Harmonic Crossing collection. The painting was created on October 2, 2026, at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first exhibited the same day at Les Portes du Dragon — Portes ouvertes de la galerie-atelier Art Quam Anima, Art Quam Anima, Paris, running through October 4, 2026. The certificate number is 20261002-0162. The work is currently available.
