Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This work explores the visual translation of the A5 power chord through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece translates piano studies into color relationships based on the cycle of fifths. The A5 power chord appears as a spread of yellow-orange tones with yellow-green accents, creating a direct correspondence between musical harmony and visual color.
Golden yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, with tan and burlywood creating substantial presence throughout the surface. Steel gray areas provide neutral balance against the warm palette, while dark goldenrod and chocolate tones add depth. Small yellow-green and pale yellow accents punctuate the arrangement, representing the higher register notes of the chord progression.
The acrylic painting measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm on paper and weighs 0.1 kg. Created in France in 2026, the work carries certificate of authenticity number 20260304-0004 and bears the artist's signature. The piece forms part of Quercy's ongoing investigation into piano studies and harmonic color relationships.
