Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of the C Major triad through chromesthetic mapping, where musical intervals become color relationships. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the painting transforms the fundamental chord C-E-G into its corresponding color equivalents: red-orange, yellow-orange, and orange tones that mirror the harmonic structure of this basic major chord.

Orange tones dominate the composition, with sandybrown and peru colors filling most areas through curved and angular forms. Red-orange sections appear as indianred and tomato hues, creating substantial presence in the central areas. Light pink provides contrast in the upper regions, while a yellow-orange accent appears as a small vertical element, representing the third of the chord. The geometric forms interlock through clean divisions marked by dark brown linear elements.

The acrylic on paper measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and weighs 0.1 kg, created on November 23, 2025. This work holds position 16 in the Research on Harmony variations within the Synesthetic Explorations collection. Certificate of authenticity number 20251123-0087 accompanies the piece, with the artist's signature located at bottom right. The work was sold to a collector in São Paulo, Brazil on February 25, 2026.
