Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of E Major harmony through chromesthetic mapping, where musical tones become color relationships. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece investigates how harmonic structures can manifest as spatial color arrangements, creating a bridge between auditory and visual perception.

Warm yellow-orange tones dominate the composition, appearing as bright goldenrod that fills the central areas and darker earth tones that anchor the lower regions. Blue-violet forms create substantial presence through geometric shapes that intersect with yellow-green accents, while subtle green notes provide delicate contrast. The colors organize into distinct zones that suggest the voicing of an E Major chord across multiple octaves.

This acrylic on paper work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm and represents the first variation in a systematic study of harmonic translation. The piece carries certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0129 and bears the artist's signature on the bottom right. The compact format concentrates the harmonic relationships into an intimate scale that emphasizes the direct correspondence between musical intervals and color positioning.
