Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
D Major - Research on Harmony explores the visual translation of musical harmony through chromesthetic perception. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, this work converts the D Major triad into its corresponding color relationships, creating a direct bridge between auditory and visual experience.
Orange tones dominate the composition, with goldenrod and chocolate hues filling the upper portions of the work. Yellow-green areas occupy substantial space through dark brown and seagreen sections, while black provides grounding in the lower left. Small accent notes of yellow-orange sandybrown, yellow olivedrab, and red-orange maroon punctuate the surface, creating harmonic complexity within the chromesthetic framework.
The work measures 10.0 × 15.0 cm on paper, executed in acrylic. Certificate of authenticity number 20240615-0121 documents the piece, with the artist's signature located bottom right. This compact format allows the harmonic relationships to read clearly while maintaining the intensity of the chromesthetic translation from the D Major chord structure.
