Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of musical harmony, specifically the B minor triad rendered through chromesthetic perception. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, the piece transforms the fundamental chord tones B, D, and F# into their corresponding color equivalents, creating a visual étude that bridges auditory and visual experience.

Turquoise green dominates the composition, occupying the central area with flowing organic forms that represent the fifth of the chord. Orange tones appear in structured geometric sections, translating the third, while deep blue-violet and black areas ground the composition as the root. Light yellow-orange and cream tones create transitional passages between the primary harmonic colors. The acrylic medium on wood panel allows for clean color separation and precise geometric definition alongside more fluid organic shapes.

The work measures 30 × 42 cm and weighs approximately 0.5 kg, created on wood panel support using acrylic paint. This variation demonstrates the artist's systematic approach to translating specific musical intervals into visual relationships. The piece bears certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0208 and was completed in France in 2024. The compact vertical format concentrates the harmonic relationships within an intimate viewing experience.
