Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of the A minor triad through chromesthetic mapping, part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection. The composition converts the fundamental chord tones A, C, and E into their corresponding color equivalents, creating a direct bridge between musical harmony and visual experience. The piece investigates how harmonic relationships can manifest through color interaction and spatial organization.

Orange tones dominate the composition, appearing across substantial areas and establishing the primary visual foundation. Yellow-orange hues occupy significant portions of the surface, creating warm transitions and harmonic connections. Red and red-orange sections provide contrast and definition, while deep gray areas anchor the composition with darker tonal weight. A bright yellow accent appears sparingly, adding luminous punctuation to the overall color structure.

The acrylic painting measures 15.0 × 21.0 × 0.3 cm on wood panel, weighing minimal amounts suitable for intimate display. This work represents Variation 5 within the broader research series examining musical-visual correspondences. The artist's signature appears at the bottom right, with certificate of authenticity number 20241201-0264 documenting its provenance and technical specifications.
