Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting translates a piano étude into visual form. Arnaud Quercy maps the D Minor 7 chord — built on degrees D1, D3, D4, and A5 — onto a color sequence running from orange toward gray, through red-violet, yellow-orange, and red. The work belongs to the Harmonic Crossing collection and the D minor 7 series, which draws its structure from piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping.
Warm yellow-orange tones fill the largest portion of the surface, running across both the pale upper zones and the mid-range fields. Bright orange appears throughout in vertical bands and rectangular blocks, giving the composition a clear geometric structure. Burnt sienna and indian red occupy substantial areas alongside, deepening the warm range. A near-black zone anchors the lower right corner, providing the darkest contrast on the surface. Red-orange accents appear in smaller passages, including a concentrated red block near the lower center. The whole palette stays within a tight warm register, with the gray-beige areas acting as a resting point between the more saturated zones. The work is painted in acrylic on paper, with black outlines defining each color block and separating the chromatic zones clearly.
The painting measures 18 × 13 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It is classified as a small-format work. The certificate number is 20261002-0161. The work was created on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first exhibited at Les Portes du Dragon — the open studio event at Art Quam Anima, Paris — from 2 to 4 October 2026. The work is currently available.
