Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
This painting maps the Ab7#11 dominant seventh sharp eleven chord into visual form. Each note of the chord — Ab1, Ab2, C3, D3, D4, D5, C6, C7 — corresponds to a color zone on the surface. The work belongs to the Harmonic Crossing collection and draws on piano studies and cycle of fifths mapping as its primary sources. It is the second variation in the Ab7#11 series.
Warm sandy and stone tones fill the largest areas of the composition, grounding the surface in a broad field of muted yellow-orange. Against this, a vivid red-orange zone asserts itself with clear force, pulling the eye toward the center-left. Dark blue-gray and near-black shapes hold the right side and lower portions, creating weight and contrast. Blue-violet and cooler gray passages appear in a grid-like cluster near the center, where the chord's inner tensions become most legible. Warm orange and burnt sienna tones provide smaller accents distributed across the field. The forms are geometric and flat, separated by fine black outlines. The paint is acrylic on paper, applied with clean edges and consistent opacity throughout.
The work measures 21 × 21 cm and weighs 0.1 kg. It was completed on 2 October 2026 at the Rue du Dragon studio in Paris. It was first shown publicly at Les Portes du Dragon — Portes ouvertes de la galerie-atelier Art Quam Anima, held at Art Quam Anima, Paris, from 2 to 4 October 2026. The certificate number is 20261002-0181. The work is currently available.
