Arnaud Quercy is a Parisian artist working across painting, music, and sculpture. His practice is grounded in Ideamorphism — the principle that a work of art does not carry meaning, but triggers it. Each piece is engineered to diffract differently through each person who encounters it.
He creates and exhibits at Art Quam Anima, his gallery-atelier at 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.
About This Artwork
Step onto the Champs-Élysées at twenty to eight, when the light softens and the avenue begins to glow. A grey arc sweeps the air, yellow-green warms beneath it, a blue disc and a breath of teal hold the cool of dusk. This is the buzz of the evening cafés, the moment Paris dresses for the night and the whole avenue leans into pleasure.
This is one of the 72 Facets of Paris, born of a piano waltz of the same name. Each of its seventy-two measures carries the harmony of a Parisian place at a given hour. Here the chord is G♭7 — sultry, glamorous, alive — and the waltz turns warm and slow in the evening, painting the café terraces of the grandest avenue in the world.
Acrylic on paper, 18 × 13 cm, signed on the reverse. An intimate, jewel-like original that holds an entire Parisian evening in the palm of your hand — a piece of the Champs-Élysées to live with always.
