About This Artwork
This work translates a piano étude into visual form within the Harmonic Crossing collection. The G Minor triad appears as a spread voicing across five octaves, using harmonic-chromatic mapping to convert musical pitches into their corresponding colors. The cycle of fifths provides the structural foundation for this sound-to-color translation.
Silver tones dominate the upper portion of the composition, while violet areas create substantial presence in the darker regions. Red-orange colors appear throughout the middle sections, with dusty mauve tones providing transitional elements. The acrylic medium on paper allows for clean color separation while maintaining subtle edge transitions between the different harmonic zones.
