Fourths & Suspended

About This Artwork

This work explores the visual translation of a piano chord through chromesthetic mapping. Part of the Synesthetic Explorations collection, it transforms the B sus4 suspended fourth chord into color relationships. The study investigates how harmonic structures from piano studies and cycle of fifth mapping can appear as visual compositions.

Yellow-green tones dominate the composition, appearing in multiple variations from dark slate to lighter gray-green areas. Cream and pale yellow sections provide substantial presence throughout the upper portions. Silver and neutral gray areas create balance, while warm tan accents appear in smaller regions. The acrylic medium on paper creates clean color boundaries with geometric forms that organize into a vertical arrangement. The colors cluster in defined areas rather than blending, maintaining distinct harmonic relationships.

The painting measures 21.0 × 30.0 cm and weighs 0.1 kg, executed in acrylic on paper support. Created in France on March 5, 2026, the work carries certificate of authenticity number 20260305-0014 and bears the artist's signature. The piece represents a contemporary approach to synesthetic art, translating the specific chord voicing B2, B3, B4, B5, F#6 into its visual equivalent through systematic color correspondence.
