Paris rooftops, Norman cliffs, Luxembourg chairs. Interior architect by training, Caroline Lopez draws what others walk past — the layered geometry of a quartier, the weight of a wave against chalk, an empty seat holding the shape of absence. She has exhibited across Paris salons and galleries since 2014.
Her work is currently exhibited at Art Quam Anima, 28 rue du Dragon, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris.

Where Are You?
About This Artwork
One minute separates the near-black urgency of 10h55 from the luminous calm of 10h56, and the distance between them is the distance between a question asked in anguish and one asked in hope.
The ground has changed entirely. Gone is the cool blue rectangle, the contained stage, the sense of light pressing down. In its place: a warm, continuous peach-ochre that fills the composition edge to edge — unframed, uncontained, the colour of late morning sun on sand. There is no bounding field here, no margin of white paper separating the garden from the world. The ground simply is, generous and open. And against it the two chairs stand with a presence they have not had at any previous moment in the series — large, frontal, unhurried, both fully articulated with armrests clearly defined, rendered as white reserves with a calm precision that approaches the monumental.
The shadows are periwinkle-lavender, soft and compact, spreading quietly beneath and between the chairs without reaching the edges of the composition. They do not insist. They do not press beyond their natural extent. After the burning red of nine sixteen, the searching violet of nine seventeen, the compressed terracotta of ten fifty-one, the golden parity of ten fifty-four, and the near-black dominance of ten fifty-five, the shadow has finally accepted its role: to accompany, not to overwhelm.
In the arc of A Moment with You, ten fifty-six is the exhale. The sundial has turned far enough that the light is no longer oblique or vertical but simply generous — falling evenly, warming the ground, asking nothing difficult. The chairs have never looked more like an invitation. The title's question has not changed. But here, for one minute, it sounds less like an accusation and more like a door left open.
The work measures thirty by thirty centimetres on paper and is registered as CLO0006. The artist's signature appears on the back. No certificate number is recorded in the dataset. The work belongs to the series A Moment with You.
